Buying credits

The pack sizes and prices are shown on the membership page, not here, so this page cannot go stale about your money: the page you buy from reads the same catalog the checkout charges against.

The credit packs in subscriptions

Every pack is paid through Stripe. What happens when you come back from checkout:

  1. Stripe returns you to the membership page, which says your payment was received and the credits are on their way.
  2. The credits are granted by a separate confirmation from Stripe, so they can land a few seconds after you return. The page is waiting for exactly that.
  3. When they land, the page updates itself and says so. You do not need to reload.

If it takes longer than ninety seconds, the page tells you the payment succeeded and gives you your checkout reference. The payment is not in question at that point. Reload shortly, and if the balance still has not moved, contact support with that reference.

Your balance is made of the plan’s monthly grant and whatever you have purchased. Every place the app shows a balance shows both together.

Plan credits are spent first. A reservation takes from the grant while any remains and only then from purchased credits, so a pack you bought is not consumed while grant credits are still available. Purchased credits do not expire; the grant renews with the plan.

A team has one balance of its own. The team owner can buy a pack straight to that balance by choosing the team as the destination at checkout. The credits land in the team’s balance, never in the owner’s personal one, and every member’s team work draws from them.

Only the owner can buy to a team. Members do not pay and cannot top the team up.

Auto top-up keeps a team’s balance from running dry. The owner turns it on for a team, picks the pack it should buy, and the team’s balance is refilled with that pack when it falls below its threshold, charged to the card saved from the owner’s last pack purchase for that team.

It pauses itself rather than retrying. If the saved card is declined or expired, or there is no saved card, top-up is paused on the first failure and the team page says exactly why. Update the card, or buy a pack once to save a new one, then turn top-up back on. It also pauses when your bank asks you to confirm the payment in person, which an automatic charge cannot do; the card was not declined, so buy the pack yourself once to confirm it, then turn top-up back on. It never retries a failed charge on its own.

It is for teams. A personal balance is topped up by buying a pack for personal use.
